Each week’s class takes the form of a work out. Warm up with a selection of palate cleansers, increase the heart rate with some hardcore knowledge, and warm-down with some cool discussion. The classes are focused around the sensory components of wine, and it is a great way to understand which style of wine you enjoy the most and introduce you to some new ones. Julie will also be there to answer any wine questions you may have!
In each session you will be able to try 5 wines. Nibbles will also be served.
Sessions are on Tuesday nights starting on February 20th
Week 1: Tuesday Feb 20th – White Wines with Zen-Like Precision
Ready Set Go! From Arneis to Ontario & everywhere in between. Think thirst-quenching, tangy, refreshing, dry and quaffable. The perfect gentle start.
Week 2: Tuesday Feb 27th – Fruit Laden Aromatic Whites
Time to warm things up a bit. We’re heading to sunnier climes with these often hillside whites, with a lot more oomph. Think of the classics, but with a sprinkling of spice & herbs, and a touch of the exotic.
Week 3: Tuesday March 6th – Light Reds with Ethereal Flavours
Now for some stretching…of your tastebuds. These wines are beguiling, yummy, perfumed & energetic. Taste the extraordinary from the Middle East to the pacific Northwest. Trust us these wines will knock your sports socks off!
Week 4: Tuesday March 13th – Richer & Rounder Whites
These are the poised, powerful and peaceful whites. Some old world & some new world classics join together in this session to nourish your soul & charge your senses. Let the hard cardio begin!
Week 5: Tuesday March 20th – Meaty & Spicy Reds
Reds with great aromatics. The brash and the bold. This is the weights section of the workout with some hardcore knowledge!
Week 6: Tuesday March 27th – Deep, Dark & Brooding Reds
How to round off a good session? Wines with body and grip of course! These wines will leave your cheeks flushed with adrenaline pumping!
